This site contains various sections including (1) critique of intellligent design; (2) critique of books arguing that the biblical story is compatible with the data of science; (3) critique of the Bible code; (4) description of the Letter Serial correlation method for a statistical analysis of texts, and the data obtained by this method; this method (developed by Perakh and McKay) goes beyond the classical information theory as it distinguishes between meaningful texts and gibberish regardless of the language, authorship, etc. The site also contains other sections reflecting Mark Perakh's personal interests and activities.

  • Oklahomans for Excellence in Science Education (OESE) is a non-profit educational organization that promotes the education of the public about the methods and values of science and advocates excellence in the science curriculum. The formation of OESE was prompted by the attempts in the Oklahoma State Textbook Committee in 1999 and in the Oklahoma Legislature each year since to diminish the teaching of evolution by the introduction of creationist textbook disclaimers to be inserted into any textbook used in public schools that discussed evolution.

  • Strongatheism.net is a site dedicated to strong-atheistic thought and apologetics. The authors of this web site subscribe to strong-atheism as a form of rational constructivism: an opposition to the faith and nihilism which dominate the philosophical landscape.

  • The Understanding Evolution web site -- written for teachers but accessible to the general public -- is intended to provide "one-stop shopping" for evolution education. The web site is rich in content, with sections on the nature of science, evolution itself, the different lines of evidence supporting evidence, evolution's relevance to everyday life, widespread misconceptions about evolution, and the history of evolutionary thought. There is also an extensive section especially for teachers, giving advice on teaching evolution, ideas for lesson plans, ways to avoid confusing students, and answering common student questions.

    The Understanding Evolution web site is a collaborative project of the National Center for Science Education and the University of California Museum of Paleontology. It was funded by a grant to UCMP from the National Science Foundation and the Howard Hughes Foundation. NCSE's Eugenie C. Scott, Alan Gishlick, and Eric Meikle assisted in its production.

  • Metanexus: The Online Forum on Religion and Science: An international online forum on religion and science with over 5662 subscribers in 57 different countries. It includes a monthly annotated digest, daily postings of commentaries and book reviews, daily news clippings from the field, and daily announcements of events and opportunities.Metanexus includes topical discussion lists, foreign language lists, and small introductory study groups.   • Talk.origins is a Usenet newsgroup devoted to the discussion and debate of biological and physical origins. Most discussions in the newsgroup center on the creation/evolution controversy, but other topics of discussion include the origin of life, geology, biology, catastrophism, cosmology and theology.
    This archive is a collection of articles and essays, most of which have appeared in talk.origins at one time or another. The primary reason for this archive's existence is to provide mainstream scientific responses to the many frequently asked questions (FAQs) and frequently rebutted assertions that appear in talk.origins.

  • National Center for Science Eduation. NCSE is a nationally-recognized clearinghouse for information and advice to keep evolution in the science classroom and "scientific creationism" out. While there are organizations that oppose "scientific creationism" as part of their general goals (such as good science education, or separation of church and state), NCSE is the only national organization that specializes in this issue. When teachers, parents, school boards, the press and others need information and help, they turn to NCSE.
  • Kansas Citizens for Science [KCFS] is a not-for-profit educational organization that promotes a better understanding of what science is, and does, by advocating for science education, educating the public about the nature and value of science, and serving as an information resource. The formation of this group was triggered by the August 1999 Kansas State Board of Education's decision to adopt public school science standards that removed key aspects of the theory of evolution--a cornerstone of modern biology--and other critical standards such as the Big Bang theory and the geologic time-scale, from the concepts on which students would be tested.
